F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Did I ever tell you guys about that one time in the university when a roach flew into my ear while I was sleeping?

Haay Fadalaud!
I was freaking out big time, having done all I could to coax/lure/scare the offending insect out of my lughole.
Crying hysterically (yes I'm a big cry baby, sue me), I phoned a friend. At 3:30am.
Never mind that I had two block mates who lived just next door I could literally hear them breathing, the only person that came to mind was someone who lived one hour away.

Looking back now it's clear to me why I made that call.
I needed someone I knew could calm me down no matter how hysterical I was. Someone I knew would drop everything and come running if ever I was in trouble.

Same friend was my support system when I was in chronic pain from a herniated disc. Went with me to every doctor's appointment, did all my heavy lifting, prayed with/for me and scolded me severely whenever I neglected to wear my neck brace.

We all (should) have that one person in our lives who we can always count on to be there for us.
That friend who would go to war for us and ask questions later. That friend who will call you out on your bullshit. That friend who 110% believes in you. That friend with whom we can totally be ourselves, who understands the things you're not saying.
Heck you may not speak with each other so often  and they probably live a thousand miles away, but when you reconnect it's like no time has passed at all.

If you don't have that type of friend then you should definitely consider being that type of friend.

Let's be honest, friend that has not seen the doctor extract a roach out of your ear before, is that one friend?
