Petty Hurts

Nigerian politicians are as petty as they are corrupt. A little pettiness is allowed every now and then but not at the expense of the people who voted you into power.
And if you ever wanted a crash course in pettiness, the APC versus PDP are currently offering tutorials.

Over the Christmas break, I happened to be in the serene town of Calabar and was somewhat disappointed with the quality of the festive decorations put up ahead of the famous Calabar carnival. Subpar is the kindest way to put it. I voiced my concern to my friend and she was like, "You know we have a new governor.."
Basically, a new governor(and ruling party) was in power and they would rather chop shit (excuse my French) than fully support anything that had to do with the previous administration.
I was very curios as to how the carnival turned out eventually so I called some of my friends who were there and the response was unanimous, it was "Meh".

The story wasn't any different in the land of promise; my beloved Akwa Ibom state. I was really looking forward to the festivities because I was regrettably absent at the last one and my siblings didn't stop gushing about all the fun they had. Let's just say the 2015 episode was a downer.
Your guess is as good as mine....."We have a new governor."

Same goes for the Abuja carnival or so I hear.

Now I hear the Rivers state government has withdrawn scholarship from her students abroad effective immediately and has asked all of them to return and continue their university education in UNIPORT or RUST.
Yes o!! "We have a new governor"
You see the scholarship scheme started in the Amaechi administration. Need I say more?

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
